Nationalday in Parpan

The August 1st celebration of the municipality of Churwalden takes place at the village square Ried in Parpan.

It begins at 4:00 PM with lantern crafting and face painting for children. From 6:00 PM, there will be catering with a bar and delicacies from local hotels, restaurants, and associations.

At 8:00 PM, the church bells will ring, followed by a welcome speech by the municipality president and the festive speech. Afterwards, the Alpina Churwalden music society will play the national anthem.

At around 9:15 PM, the children, accompanied by drummers, will start the lantern parade around Mahlerweg.

At around 9:45 PM, the August 1st fire will be lit on the Ried, and the celebration will wind down.
