ORIGEN | Hannibal

Hannibal, probably the boldest general in history, marches against Rome. In order to save his hometown of Carthage, he crosses the Alps with a huge army and stabs the Roman great power in the back. The unprecedented war campaign decimates his troops, hits morale, raises doubts. When Roman spies kidnap his son, the resistance flares up. Hannibal marches against Rome and threatens the city. – Origen reflects the ancient myth in a contemporary context. An extended introduction to the work, in the afternoon in Mulegns, sheds light on the historical background, the creation of the work, the idea of the production, the international ensemble.
