Proiezione film Maternity Blues

The Gruppo Mamme SottoSopraE and I Film di Devon House invite you to the screening of "Maternity Blues".

In the afternoon there will be a screening of "Maternity Blues" (2011), directed by Fabrizio Cattani and freely based on the play "From Medea" by Grazia Verasani. Presented at the 68th Venice Film Festival, the film delicately deals with the theme of postpartum depression.

The story takes place in a judicial psychiatric hospital, where four women — played by Andrea Osvárt, Monica Barladeanu, Chiara Martegiani and Marina Pennafina — share the same tragedy: having taken the lives of their children in a moment of bewilderment. The director does not show violence, focusing on the "after": loneliness, guilt and the path of atonement, restoring dignity to figures often judged by the media.

The evening will also be an opportunity for an open discussion on the fatigue and fragility of parenthood, too often told only as a perfect period.
