Description

BLUM - Dance performance Cie Moving Mountains - in a dance residency in Poschiavo

"Blum – wild things happen in stillness
With Blum - Wild things happen in stillness, the dance collective Moving Mountains opens up a multifaceted dialogue between past and present. The piece is an artistic examination of the realities and dreams of women* of different generations and at the same time marks an important step in the development of the collective's artistic work: a first full-length stage production, which is being created in collaboration with Theater Chur and will premiere in Chur in March 2027.
Blum is inspired by intergenerational interviews that the participating dancers conduct with their mothers, grandmothers and other female caregivers. These conversations result in intimate snapshots of realized and unfulfilled life plans, social boundaries, resilience and self-determination. The voices of the interviewees form the sonic foundation of the piece and interweave with contemporary dance, street dance, music and stage design to create a sensual-associative narrative.

The performance will be followed by a moment of togetherness.

Biography:
Moving Mountains is a dance collective and multidisciplinary creative studio with members from Graubünden, Bern and St. Gallen. With backgrounds in dance as well as music production, scenography, costume design, communication and conception, the six-member group specialises in creating unique experiences for theatre, film and events through movement and storytelling. They also like to work site-specific and are inspired by their surroundings. This is also the case in their dance short film "IN VIADI", which was filmed in the Graubünden Alps in 2024 and which has been shown and awarded prizes at various national and international film festivals. In their choreographies, they combine various street dance styles such as hip-hop, popping and breaking with elements from contemporary dance.
