Maud lives on a trailer park in California and buys a seemingly insignificant painting at a flea market that turns her life upside down. An art expert travels from New York to examine whether it could be an original Jackson Pollock.

Themes

In an intense verbal duel, expertise clashes with intuition, hope with judgement. The play questions how truth is created – in the art market as well as in society – and what counts as “real” in times of fake news.
