After the damming in 1882, the Heidsee attracted all kinds of people: Chur citizens, writers (Thomas Mann), artists (Hanna Kiel, Annemarie Schwarzenbach), theologians (Leonhard Ragaz), women's activists (Clara Ragaz, Gertrud Rüegg) and playboys.
