After the damming in 1882, Heidsee attracted all sorts of people: citizens of Chur, writers (Thomas Mann), artists (Hanna Kiel, Annemarie Schwarzenbach), theologians (Leonhard Ragaz), women activists (Clara Ragaz, Gertrud Rüegg), and playboys.
