Event Engadin St. Moritz
Village tour - Walk through the La Punt district
Description
In the Chamues-ch district, the richly decorated farmhouses are impressive, while in the La Punt district, the stately patrician houses captivate with their impressive architecture and history.
The old patricians knew why they built their stately homes here in the 16th and 17th centuries: La Punt Chamues-ch is strategically located at the foot of the former trade route over the Albula Pass.
The Chesa Merleda, with its gleaming white battlements, is considered La Punt's landmark and one of the most important architectural monuments in the canton of Graubünden.
Older buildings, such as the late Gothic Church of San Andrea, with its Romanesque elements dating back to the Middle Ages and its modern stained-glass windows, also fascinate many visitors.
Learn about the story of Adam da Chamues-ch, the liberator of the Upper Engadine from the bailiwick, on a guided tour of the village.
