Even as a child, Levi Fitze loved to be in nature. Today he is 22, his photographic art is internationally known and awarded. Somewhere in the mountains, he waits for weeks for the right moment to photograph lynxes, wolves, stoats and grouse. This is how he learns to understand the animals. Watching golden eagles hunting or photographing an ibex under the Milky Way are the greatest gifts of life for him.

Levi Fitze takes his audience to the Swiss Alps. Here there are large temperature differences, difficult terrain and little food. It is precisely these circumstances that make the animals highly specialized survivors who are perfectly adapted to the harsh conditions. They develop various strategies for this, such as changing coat color or retreating for hibernation.

As a photographer, Levi Fitze captures this native wildlife and its habitats in artistic images. The stories and adventures behind them are often amazingly elaborate and only succeed after many failed attempts. It all depends on an understanding of nature and the behaviour of wild animals. Levi Fitze's live lecture, winner of the "Best Photography" award at the Discovery Days, also tells of his beginnings as a boy with a camera and a dream. And how this creates a life around nature photography, with the aim of inspiring people for the beauty of our wilderness on their doorstep, which is worth protecting.
