Workshop zur architektonischen Vermessung in Cavaione

The Laboratoire des Arts pour les Sciences (LAPIS) of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) is organising an architectural surveying workshop dedicated to the historic nucleus "I Betin" in Cavaione, in the municipality of Brusio, from 3 to 7 July 2026. About twenty architecture students are participating in the initiative, who will deal with the measurement of the rooms on the ground floor and first floor of the estate and their representation on the basis of true-to-scale architectural drawings.

In addition to the didactic and scientific activities, the programme includes two free events open to the public.

On FRIDAY 3 JULY at 6.30 p.m., the historian Fabrizio Lardi will give a lecture on the history of Cavaione at the "Vecchia Scuola" in Cavaione.

On MONDAY 6 JULY at 6.30 p.m., a panel discussion will be held at the Casa Besta Museum in Brusio, where the first results of the workshop will be presented and the cultural and scientific value of the documentation produced will be discussed. After the event, there will be an aperitif on the terrace of the museum. Albina Cereghetti, curator at the Monuments Office of the Canton of Graubünden, and Nicola Braghieri, professor at EPFL and head of the LAPIS laboratory, will take part in the discussion.
