Maiensäss, Berghütte Pundelon

The mountain pasture Pundelon is located in the middle of the imposing mountains of the Valle Mesolcina and is an ideal base camp for nature lovers. Here you will find pure nature. Surrounded by meadows and forests, the Maiensäss offers you a secluded location and peace. The Maiensäss offers space for up to 6 guests on one floor. Outside, a terrace and various meadows around the house await you. The entire property is fenced - but not dog-proof. Dogs are welcome. Leaving the house and surroundings clean is required. You are in the great outdoors, if your dog does not remain in the fenced area, you need to make sure that your dog is not a threat to humans or other animals.
The surrounding area offers numerous activities such as hiking, biking and excursions to Ticino or San Bernardino. Discover the nearby grottos and swimming along the Moesa River. Mesocco is about 15 minutes' drive away and offers various restaurants and a grocery store. The accommodation can be reached with an all-terrain car to above the house, from there it is about 300 meters and 50 meters in altitude on foot. Good footwear and suitable (portable) luggage are mandatory.
Bedrooms Two separate, lockable bedrooms.
Kitchen, living room and dining area The spacious room includes a kitchen, a comfortable sofa corner with fireplace and a large dining table with a view of the mountains and the valley.
Separate Jägerstübli Separate room accessible from the living room and from the outside. Ideal for playing cards, being creative or doing office work.
Interior The Maiensäss is modern and comfortably furnished. The bathroom has a toilet and a washbasin.
Technical equipment Heating is done exclusively with wood in a modern wood-burning stove. The cooking stove is also powered by wood. In addition, a 2-seater Gasrechaud is available. A tankless water heater provides warm water. The electricity comes from a solar system, the water is spring water. Wi-Fi and TV are not available, network coverage is good.
Other information The Maiensäss is not easily accessible by public transport - the nearest bus stop is about 4 km away. The Maiensäss is only rented out during the snow-free period, as access is not guaranteed in winter. The mountain pasture is not suitable for (small) children, as the terrain next to the house slopes very steeply and a stone wall borders the property. The Maiensäss is located on the western side of the valley, which has an influence on the duration of sunshine.
Important note: The economical and mindful use of water, solar power and wood is very important. Hair dryers and other appliances with high electricity requirements may not be used.
