The hut is situated at 2327 m altitude in Glims, northwest of Lavin, about 30 m east of the stream descending from the large valley basin, in the angle between it and an old vegetated moraine ridge.

The Martrüel hut was built by the farmers of Wiesen as a mountain hut. In the summer of 2003, this mountain hut was converted and serves us as an unattended mountain hut for self-catering.
