12th National Hiking Day: Hike 3 - Thermal Water Hike Tamina Valley

From the fairground in Bad Ragaz, the path leads directly to the Old Bad Pfäfers in one hour. The oldest surviving baroque bath in Switzerland, it is now a natural and cultural oasis with supra-regional appeal. Inside there are 2 museums, the Paracelsus Memorial and a restaurant. During an hour-long break, try Tamina Valley specialties or enjoy a fine sausage from the grill.

A few meters away from the Old Bad Pfäfers is the entrance to the spring grotto. The path leads 450 meters inside the rock to the grotto, where the spring water gushes hot from the rock. Then take the same path back to the Old Bad Pfäfers. After the break, the path leads over the natural bridge and 300 steps to the highest point of this hike. Before the village of Pfäfers, turn off in the direction of Bad Ragaz. During the descent you will pass the Tamina Bridge, which is the largest arch bridge in Switzerland with a span of 260 meters and a length of 475 meters.
