Description
From the fairground in Bad Ragaz, the route leads directly to the old Pfäfers baths in an hour. The oldest preserved baroque bath in Switzerland is now a natural and cultural oasis with a national reputation. Inside there are 2 museums, the Paracelsus memorial and a restaurant. Sample Tamina Valley specialties during an hour's break or enjoy a delicious sausage from the grill.
The entrance to the spring grotto is just a few meters from the Old Bath Pfäfers. The path leads 450 meters into the rocky interior to the grotto, where the hot spring water gushes out of the rock. Then take the same path back to the Alter Bad Pfäfers. After the break, the path leads over the natural bridge and up 300 steps to the highest point of this hike. Before the village of Pfäfers, turn off in the direction of Bad Ragaz. During the descent, you will pass the Tamina Bridge, which is the largest arch bridge in Switzerland with a span of 260 meters and a length of 475 meters.
