2-day tour Medelserhütte

The first two kilometers we walk on a road into the Val Plattas, from Pardatsch we follow the marked hiking trail that leads us to Alp Sura. The Rein da Plattas meanders here through flat meadows and forms beautiful pools. From the slopes the waters of the Medelser Glacier rush down and above us waves the unfortunately no longer eternal snow.

After a last rocky ascent, we reach the Medelserhütte at the Fuorcla da Lavaz. Before dinner we still have enough time to take a sparkling bath in the nearby mountain lake Lai Encarden. Fresh at the table, we let ourselves be pampered by the hut team with a fine dinner and enjoy the sunset in the modern dining room. Legendary!

The next day we descend again to Alp Sura and take the ascent to the Fuorcla dalla Buora under our feet. After one last look back to the glacier, we descend steeply into Val la Buora, a rough and little known valley with a wide stony creek bed. The landscape becomes gentler again at the goat alpine pasture Alp Puzzetta. The modern red building surprises and offers an extraordinary photo motif. From Platta the post bus takes us back to Curaglia.

The visit to Lai Encarden takes about 1 hour round trip.

From Curaglia we follow the marked hiking trail to the Medelserhütte. On the second day we branch off from Alp Sura towards the west and hike over the Fuorcla dalla Buora to Alp Puzzetta. Below the hut we take the fork heading towards Platta.
