Description
The start point of this bike route is the spa town Bad Ragaz, known for the healing thermal water from the Tamina Gorge. Pleasant riding through the Sarganserland with views of the dominant Gonzen. From Wangs, the ascent begins, which leads along the left edge of the Weisstannental valley to Alp Unter Precht. There you enjoy probably the most beautiful view into the Weisstannental and at the very back towers the Foostock, part of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage "Tektonikarena Sardona." Through magnificent forests and lush meadows, you reach the highest point of the tour, Alp Gamidaur. The following descent is the actual highlight of this route: Accompanied by impressive panoramas (Churfirsten, Alvier, Sarganserland, Rhine Valley) the route runs through wild overgrown landscapes and forests over natural paths, mountain roads, a beautiful singletrail and finally past the Ruine Freudenberg back to Bad Ragaz.
The two valley stations of the Pizol cable cars are also suitable as alternative starting points, as there are ample parking facilities available at each.
