Hike from the Es-cha-Hütte SAC over the Albulapass to Preda or further on to Bergün.
Details
Description
On the last day of the Kesch Trek, a particularly beautiful place awaits you. Shortly before Preda lies the Lai da Palpuogna, which was voted the "most beautiful spot in Switzerland" in a survey by Swiss television. It is often described as the "blue eye of the landscape," and indeed the Palpuogna lake shimmers in various shades of blue. In autumn, the contrast to the yellow larches is especially beautiful. Let yourself be enchanted by the surroundings and enjoy a break at the barbecue spots around the lake.
Are you staying at the Kulm Hotel Preda? Then you will already be at your day's destination in Preda. For everyone else, the hike continues to Bergün.
Hidden Gem
Along the railway experience path you will find information boards about the Albula line, which was built over 100 years ago and has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2008.
Safety Note
The Kesch Trek is an alpine mountain hike. Possible dangers in high mountain areas must be properly assessed. The hiking stages require good physical condition.
In October and from the end of April to the end of May, the Swiss army conducts shooting exercises in the S-chanf area. During this time, the area between S-chanf and the Dürrboden mountain inn is closed in the Scaletta and Grialetsch regions (danger to life).
Equipment
Sturdy mountain boots, weatherproof and warm clothing, rain protection, provisions for the hiking stages (lunch packs can also be obtained in the huts), enough water, sun and head protection, small first aid kit, maps for orientation and possibly hiking poles.
