Description
"There are only three routes in the Alps that have made it into the 'Epic Rides' list of the International Mountainbike Association. The Alps Epic Trail in Davos is one of them. This high honor is not without reason." (Ride Magazine)
The train takes you all the way up to Jakobshorn, where the route begins. You ride along the gravel road towards Sertig Dörfli. After a short climb, the singletrail begins. Since its renovation, it is very nicely rideable and the 730 meters of elevation gain to Sertig Dörfli fly by. Here you can either stop at the mountain guide for a mid-morning snack, or continue on the road to Sertig Sand (refreshment opportunity at Walserhuus) and from there onto the singletrail to Rinerhorn. This part of the route is signposted as Route 647 Rinerhorn/Sertig, but in the opposite direction.
After about 205 meters of elevation gain, you reach the Äbirügg campfire site. From here you enjoy a wonderful view over the entire landscape. Continue on the track towards the Rinerhorn mountain station, passing the Rinerhorn mountain restaurant. Soon the singletrail branches off to the left towards Monstein. From here you can follow the route signs 335 Monstein. A rolling route leads over Nidel Löffel, Leidbach, Hauder- and Oberalp to Monstein. Here is "the last beerstop before heaven", the Monsteiner brewery. Good places to eat are the Veltlinerstübli and the Ducan restaurant. However, you should not eat too heavily, as there are still some kilometers ahead.
Then you continue to Jenisberg. From now on you follow the route signs 338 Zügenschlucht. From Monstein, you first pass the sawmill towards the former ore mines/Silberberg, but turn left onto a somewhat wider path leading further uphill before. At Teuf Zügji, the elevation meters are overcome and you turn right onto a singletrail. Care is advised here, as the path partially drops steeply. For those not afraid of heights, the ride is a delight. Through Brunnentöbeli you continue past Löser, through Chüetobel and just before Jenisberg. A detour to Jenisberg is definitely worth it; you can refuel in the Gässälibeiz.
From Jenisberg you descend via the steep road to Wiesen station. Here caution is advised for oncoming vehicles. From Wiesen station you leave Route 337 and follow the hiking signpost to Leidboden, always along the Landwasser until you stand under the Landwasser viaduct. After this impressive sight follows the climb to Filisur station, where you should treat yourself to a Filisur organic ice cream while waiting for the train.
HOME OF TRAILS
By the way: At Wiesen station is located the famous bridge from the video "Home of Trails", where Danny MacAskill balances on the retaining wall over a roughly 84-meter deep abyss.

Hidden Gem
Last beerstop before heaven! Fresh beer is available at the brewery in Monstein. And if you like, you can treat yourself to a small snack at the "Züga-Beizli" with homemade, local specialties.
Safety Note
In the Davos Klosters destination, there are many managed alpine pastures with livestock. It is therefore to be expected to encounter animals everywhere. We ask for appropriate consideration and also to ride the terrain at a suitable pace.
