Description
From the chapel of Isola (1290 m), take the steep mule track that climbs the valley of the Febbraro stream. After passing the junction to Ca di Raseri (1507 m), the path ascends more gently, always keeping the watercourse on our right. Cross the stream, turning right on a steep ascent towards Borghetto (1897 m). After the last buildings at the three-way junction, keep left, continuing to the fork of the trail to Pian dei Cavalli and Lago Bianco. Here, continue straight, passing Lago Grande and the small lake Laghetto del Mot to then reach the Balniscio Pass (2353 m). The descent starts here, leading to the Serraglia Pass (2279 m), the border with the Swiss territory. The descent begins gently to Alp de Balnisc (2097 m), then tackles the steep descent leading to Pian San Giacomo (1184 m) in the Mesolcina Valley.
