Description

The "Bella Vista" tour starts with a highlight: Immediately after the parking lot of the Brigels mountain railways, you drive along the idyllic Lake Brigels. Depending on the weather and the season, its water glows in a beautiful turquoise or deep blue. The trail continues across alpine meadows in the direction of Waltensburg to the Curtginet valley station. Along the main road you roll into the upper village of Waltensburg, where it turns right again in the direction of Brigels. Soon, two more highlights of this easy gravel circuit are reached: the Uaul Pign fireplace and the Grotta cave castle (Kropfenstein-Casti Grotta). In a slight ascent you cycle on the partly rough dirt road to the Crest la Crusch viewpoint. In the centre of the small platform is the Escherstein. It commemorates the builders and the completion of the connecting road from Waltensburg to Brigels, which was completed in 1870. From here, however, you can also see the whole Surselva. From Ilanz to Disentis.

Geheimtipp

A visit to the Kropfenstein-Casti Grotta is worthwhile. This is built into overhanging rock faces.

In uncertain weather conditions, the tour should not be started. Weather changes in the mountains are frequent. If a rain front or similar comes up during the tour, you should turn back in time.
