Description
Right from the start, we are inspired by the prospect of a fine "kafi" or a "zvieriplättli" in the rustic mountain tavern Cungieri. The restaurant dates back to the early days of winter tourism in Sedrun and was lovingly renovated a few years ago.
A shady and varied ascent option leads off the road through Uaul Niregl, where we reach our destination in a relaxed back and forth in less than an hour. We take enough time to enjoy before hiking back down through Val Bugnei. Here too, we benefit from the shade of partly mighty fir trees and listen to the silence or the cowbells.
Cungieri is also accessible by cable car. The current operating times can be found here.
Hidden Gem
The wine selection leaves nothing to be desired

Directions
From the train station, we follow the hiking trail below the railway line towards Disentis. Above Bogn Sedrun, go through the underpass and then turn right. Along the railway line to the junction to the left according to the hiking trail signposting. In between, we follow a section of the road, then we can branch off again onto a narrow hiking trail at the wooden carved owls. After the forest, at the cross, there is another short last section on a road. Downhill first on the road, then before the cross turn left. After the Maiensässe in Val Bugnei turn right onto the meadow path and a little further down turn right again. This way we reach the junction above the railway line again.
