Bernina Trek classic: Stage 5 Chamanna da Tschierva-Chamanna da Boval

The descent through Val Roseg takes us to Pontresina. In the upper part of the valley, there is a good chance to see chamois and marmots. The lower part leads along the river Ova da Roseg through a larch and Swiss stone pine forest. Make sure to take the marked hiking trail on the right after the Hotel Roseg Glacier and not the wide road. In Pontresina, continue through the Tais forest, then along the railway to the Morteratsch station. Of course, you can also take the train for this section (Surovas station). Behind the Morteratsch station on the left is the Morteratsch alpine cheese dairy – ideal for a break. Afterwards, we cross the tracks and take the marked path to Chamanna Boval via the Chünetta. The ascent leads through the thinning Swiss stone pine forest and on a scenic path high above the Morteratsch Glacier to Chamanna Boval.
