Description

You start at Rifugio Saoseo, initially following about 300 m of the road south until the hiking trail to Terzana branches off to the left. Following this, you hike over the idyllic Poz da Rügiul to the junction to Aura Freida. After a strenuous 200 m ascent to 2168 m, the beautiful raised bog Plan da San Franzesch awaits you, with its magnificent view of Piz Varuna, Palü Glacier, and Piz Palü. The route continues comfortably on a natural road, which reveals itself as a true panorama path: past various viewpoints and rustic hamlets, you slowly descend to Poschiavo. Here, Italian flair is in the sun-warmed air, and southern charm welcomes you on the picturesque piazza with its stately buildings. Restaurants tempt you with the finest Gelati – a delicious temptation you absolutely should indulge in!

The return journey with the Rhaetian Railway is just as eventful as your hike: sit back and enjoy the ride through spiral tunnels, past milky glacier lakes and bluish shimmering glaciers.
