Description

The Bocchetta del Notar connects, at high altitude, the Cama valley on the Swiss side, with the Val Bodengo, which leads to Gordona, on the Italian side. The itinerary is known as the “Via dei Crotti” and offers opportunities for tasty stops in many typical mountain establishments. Starting from the 1800s, the route has been more or less continuously used by smugglers, the "spalloni," during their border trafficking between Italy and Switzerland.
