Description

The route starts at the valley road at Under Camana. The post bus stop is located here. Alternatively, you can drive by car to Ober Camana and do a shortened route.

Past brown-fired barns, some still or again covered with shingles, the route leads toward Ober Camana. Here you will find a still largely intact Walser scattered settlement. The following wide slopes invite free interpretation of the exact route. Depending on avalanche conditions, this is also easily possible. The ideal snowshoe slopes allow views to wander freely. The surrounding mountain world in this part of the Safien valley offers more than enough opportunities for that.

We have chosen point 2397 for this route. However, many more are available. The Camaner Ridge offers on one side a very impressive deep view down on the north side and over a large part of the Surselva. On the other side, there is a wide view of the rocky neighboring mountains in the Safien valley to be glimpsed.

The descent takes place via a loop next to the exit track. From Ober Camana, the route runs along the track laid in the morning back to the valley road.

Hidden Gem

Those traveling by car can enjoy something on the sunny terrace at Hotel Camana after the route. The restaurant is located in the old schoolhouse in Camanaboda.

Safety Note

Ski and snowshoe routes in unsecured terrain require good knowledge in avalanche risk assessment and route planning. Furthermore, complete safety equipment must always be carried – regardless of the current avalanche risk.

For preparation and planning of the route, we recommend the APP and website of WhiteRisk.

For carefree enjoyment, we recommend our mountain guides and snowshoe hiking leaders of the Surselva.
