Details
Description
The hike starts at the middle station Triel and leads over alpine pasture up to the first highlight, the small mountain lake in the middle of the forest. The surrounding mountains and trees are reflected in the clear water and radiate a restful calm. Then it continues through the forest to the grill site Trutg da stiarls and up to Fontauna nera. With some luck, marmots can be observed in front of their burrows here. From Fontauna Nera it becomes a bit steeper. The hiking trail winds through the untouched nature up to Cauma su. From there it goes over the piste to Hitzeggen. It is worth taking a break at Hitzeggen and enjoying the wonderful view. If you are already tired, you can take the return way with the chairlift (check timetable). On foot, the path leads further towards Péz Mundaun. At the "Indianerloch," as the locals call it, the descent begins over the alpine pastures back to Triel.
Hidden Gem
Variant: Above the forest, follow the road at Crestas aultas. The hike then passes La Tegia and rejoins the trail at Cauma su towards Hitzeggen.
The hike can be shortened with a mountain railway ride. (Triel - Hitzeggen or return).
Safety Note
In case of uncertain weather conditions, the route should not be started. Weather changes in the mountains are frequent. If a rain front or similar approaches during the hike, you should turn back in time.
