Description

The Lower Segnesboden is part of the national inventory of flat moors of special beauty and importance. At the same time, the Lower Segnesboden is one of only two flat moor conservation areas in Switzerland with no signs of settlement. On the hike, you pass the Segneshütte and the Sardona visitor pavilion.

Hidden Gem

Visit the UNESCO Sardona visitor pavilion for information about the Glarus main thrust and the formation of the Alps.

Directions

The new FlemX railway takes you from Flims to Segnes. From there, a simple descent to the Lower Segnesboden follows immediately. We follow the path on the right side of the Flachmoor towards Tschingelhörner. halfway up we pass the waterfall, from which the Flem stream originates. We circle around the Segnesboden and climb up to Grauberg. The hiking trail then gently descends until we reach the Segneshütte again.

By train to Chur and from there by post bus to Flims, getting off at Flims Bergbahnen stop

Travel Information

Motorway A13 to Chur and then continue to exit no. 18 "Reichenau". 

From there head towards Flims. Use the "Stenna" parking garage at the Flims Dorf valley station.
