Details
Description
This trail from Feldis to the Dreibündenstein and back leads over the gentle and scenic high plateau around the Dreibündenstein. At the border stone of the former three Rhaetian leagues, a unique panoramic view of the Graubünden mountain world can be admired, e.g. the majestic Piz Beverin, the Tödi, the Calanda group, and even the Glarus Alps.
Clearly visible on the opposite Ringelspitz and up to the Flims mountains (Segnes, Tschingelhörner) is the fault of the UNESCO World Heritage site “Tektonikarena Sardona.” In this area, the processes of the Alpine formation can be particularly well seen. A central element is the sharp line of the Glarus thrust, a surface where older rock was pushed over younger material during the formation of the Alps.
On the descent, the trail runs along idyllic landscapes past Alp dil Plaun back to the mountain station of the Feldis-Mutta chairlift, which conveniently takes you back to Feldis.
