Description

Strenuous but rewarding hike with breathtaking views into the depths of the Bargis valley and the surrounding mountain peaks. First the ascent to the Fil de Cassons and on the way back the endless panoramic views over Flims to the Rhine Gorge.

Safety Note

hiking shoes, no vertigo.

Equipment

Hiking shoes, backpack with rain coat, warm fleece, sunscreen, snacks and water. Maybe hiking poles.

Directions

Fidaz is a small village above Flims and offers easy access to the Flimserstein (Cassons) with its new cable car (Michseilbahn), which brings hikers directly to the top, where also the Via Ferrata "Pinut" ends. The narrow trail leads through meadows and past carst stone, in the direction of the Fil de Cassons. Every now and again the path leads closer along the abyss and the views of the Bargis valley below as well as the surrounding peaks are glorious. From the Fil de Cassons the trail leads back on the western side, high above Flims, until you reach the cable car station again. With some luck you can spot Ibex along the way.

Public Transport

Arrive in Chur by train and then continue by post bus towards Flims. Get off at the stop "Flims Dorf Post". Change to the bus no. 411 towards Fidaz and get off at the stop "Pinut"

Travel Information

Motorway A13 to Chur and continue until exit 18 "Reichenau". Follow signs for Flims. Use the underground car park Stenna at the cable car station in Flims and take bus 411 towards Fidaz, get off at "Pinut".

Use the underground car park "Stenna" at the cable car station Flims.
