Description
This round route is considered one of the most popular hikes in the region and for good reason: It leads you not only to the shore of the picturesque Lake Cauma but also through the "Grand Canyon" of Switzerland. From several viewpoints, you also enjoy fantastic views into the Rhine Gorge.

Pack barbecue items – there are various barbecue spots beautifully located on the Rhine offering fascinating views.
Safety Note
The section from Conn to the bridge at Valendas-Versam station corresponds to the Ilanz-Rhine Gorge Ruinaulta route, but in the opposite direction.
Equipment
Good hiking shoes with good grip or trekking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing (rain jacket/sun protection), drink, possibly food, possibly hiking poles.
Directions
Start in Staderas: From there the route first leads through a large forest shaped by the Flims rockslide to Lake Cauma. A little further on in Conn, you can make a slight detour to the Il Spir viewing platform to enjoy a stunning view of the Rhine Gorge. A historic path then takes you via Pintrun to Ransun and then down a steep descent into the Rhine Gorge. You walk through the wild romantic Rhine Gorge, where you will repeatedly come across beautiful picnic and barbecue spots, then via Ual da Mulin and Planezzas back to the starting point.
