Description

With a beautiful view of the Signina group and over the Rhine Valley, the descent goes fast from Curnius down to Falera. The sledding path passes rustic alpine huts and the well-known Mirasteilas Observatory. Falera is located on a sunny terrace on the left slope side of the Vorder Rhine Valley. Among other things, the mountain village is known for the Parc la Mutta, the largest and most important megalithic site in Switzerland.
From Curnius you can sled rapidly down the 3.5-kilometer-long sled run all the way to Falera at the valley station. From there you can easily get back to the starting point with the Falera-Curnius chairlift. Even after dark, the sledding fun from Curnius to Falera does not end.

Sledding during the day

In good snow conditions, the run is open for your free use every day.

Night sledding

From February 12 to March 12, 2021, every Friday, the sledding path invites you to night sledding from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

By the way: The Tegia Curnius mountain restaurant is also open for you.

Hidden Gem

What would sledding be without a cozy fondue gathering? At the Tegia Curnius mountain restaurant, you can choose between classic or exclusive cheese fondue.

Safety Note

Be careful of skiers and snowboarders on the last section.

Equipment

We recommend suitable winter clothing, ski goggles, gloves and high boots with a good sole.

Directions

From Falera, the smallest and oldest village by area in the Laax ski area, sledders can comfortably reach Curnius by chairlift. With a view over the Rhine Valley and towards Obersaxen, the descent back towards the valley station starts here. The winding sledding path is open daily in good snow conditions. It first leads along the chairlift, then takes a wide curve towards the forest.
The last third of the route passes near the Mirasteilas Observatory, the largest publicly accessible observatory in Switzerland. Beautiful, starry night skies are part of the experience here – which can of course also be enjoyed during a night sledding session.
