Description
Since 1998, the Davos Landscape Trail with its information panels has been guiding curious and interested hikers and walkers through the history of Davos and also giving them an insight into the current situation.
The municipality's main goal with the Davos Landscape Trail is to raise awareness. The aim is to bring guests closer to the diverse Davos landscape as a whole. On the one hand, this is done through documentation of natural, historical, and cultural conditions that were of great – especially environmental-political – importance for the development of the place. On the other hand, the information panels also convey simple scientific insights, mostly derived from research conducted in or about the Davos landscape. The Davos Landscape Trail is intended to encourage engagement with the present and future of the locale.
The following topics are explained via display panels:
- The Davos climate
- Spatial planning
- Natural hazard: torrent
- The Davos forest
- Townscape of Davos
- Health resort Davos
- Our air to breathe
- The Davos town hall
- Snow sports in Davos
- Natural hazard: avalanches
- Waste
- Natural landscape
- Davos landscape
- Cultural landscape
A richly illustrated companion brochure covers the individual topics in detail. With interesting background information, connections between the various thematic focuses are established. The brochure is available here and free of charge at the municipal administration office in the town hall of Davos Platz.
