Details

Description

The area is snow-sure and sheltered from the wind. The trail is generally considered to be easy to moderately difficult, yet technically varied, as you will occasionally encounter a slope or incline on the mostly flat trail. The views of the Churfirsten and Sichelchamm are a scenic highlight.

The trail starts right behind the Sennenstube restaurant, where there is also a checkroom and a waxing room that can be used free of charge if required.

Hidden Gem

If the dog trail is occupied by husky sled teams, you can switch to the surrounding trails.

Equipment

You can rent the complete cross-country skiing equipment at INTERSPORT FLUMSERBERG Tannenboden Dorf. In addition to the cross-country skiing equipment, you will also need a canicross harness. Make sure your dog has a well-fitting harness and a bungee leash.

Directions

The route is a circular tour, starting with a slight incline before heading up to the idyllic Madil plateau. The route then continues straight ahead for around 750 meters before becoming a little more winding. The route returns in a larger arc before the final ascent back to the starting point.

Directions

Public Transport

Take the train to Flums or Sargans, then take the PostBus, line 441 in the direction of Flumserberg Tannenboden. Get off at the bus stop Tannenboden Dorf and walk up to the Restaurant Sennästube (approx. 10 min.).

or

Take the train to Unterterzen, then take the SeeJet cable car up to Flumserberg Tannenboden. At the exit of the mountain station, walk down the road to the left towards Tannboden village and then turn right and walk up to the Sennenstube restaurant (approx. 15 min.).

The start of the trail is right next to the Sennästube restaurant.

Travel Information

Take the Flums/Flumserberg exit and then drive up the Flumserbergstrasse to Tannenboden Dorf. Follow the sign for Restaurant Sennenstube (Alp Tannenboden) and drive up towards the restaurant.

Parking

As there are only a limited number of parking spaces at the restaurant, we recommend parking on the road to the restaurant and using the short walk to warm up. The entrance to the trail is right next to the Sennästube restaurant.

At Flumserberg the parking spaces are marked out. Mention to the staff that you would like to go cross-country skiing. If there are still parking spaces available, you can drive further up. Otherwise you can also take the free sports bus to Tannenboden Dorf and then walk up to the Sennästube (approx. 10 minutes).

The parking lots are chargeable from 07.00 to 17.00. From 17.00 to 02.00 parking is free.

After 02.00 to 07.00 there is a night parking ban. There are plenty of night parking spaces in the Tannenboden parking garage or in Tannenheim.

The night parking lot can be used for a fee, but camping is prohibited.
