Description

This ambitious tour starts in Bad Ragaz with a leisurely ride through the valley plain of the Chur Rhine Valley, before climbing steadily from Maienfeld on tarred and gravel roads to the Heidialp. After the wonderful view of the Chur Rhine Valley, a racy descent takes us to the St. Luzisteig with its famous military installation. After a further challenging climb on gravel paths and finally on wide hiking trails, we reach the Regitzerspitze, which offers magnificent views over the Chur and St. Gallen Rhine valleys, the Seez valley and the surrounding mountains. The long descent continues - briefly interrupted by the small Luzisteig plateau - along gravel roads and hiking trails past the vineyards down to the Rhine. On a leisurely roll-out over the Rhine dam, we cross the Giessenpark and reach our starting point again.

The moorland village from Johanna Spyri's world-famous novel welcomes you on an emotional journey back in time to the Swiss mountains of the 19th century.
