Description
The ambitious route starts in Bad Ragaz with a relaxed warm-up through the valley floor of the Chur Rhine Valley before steadily climbing on asphalt and gravel roads from Maienfeld up to the Heidialp. After the wonderful view over the Chur Rhine Valley, a thrilling descent takes us to St. Luzisteig with its well-known military installation. After further challenging altitude meters on gravel and finally on wide hiking trails, we reach the Regitzerspitze, which offers us magnificent panoramic views over the Chur and St. Gallen Rhine as well as the Seez Valley and the surrounding mountains. The long descent takes place—briefly interrupted by the small plateau of Luzisteig—over gravel roads and hiking trails past the vineyards down to the Rhine. During the relaxed roll along the Rhine dam, we cross the Giessenpark and return to our starting point.
