Ellhorn Rundweg

Details
Description
From Mäls, the path first leads flat towards Ellhorn until in the forest the trail gains some height in several curves. Over the Ell meadows, which are a botanical jewel with alpine plants such as fire lilies, gentians, and Turk's cap lilies, we steadily ascend to the highest point of the hike. We enjoy surprising deep views high above the sheer cliffs towards the Rhine and the Fläscher Au. Then we follow the steep mountain path down through the Moxen valley to the Rhine plain. A winding path then leads us below the Ellhorn finally back along the Rhine to Mäls.
Hidden Gem
A visit to the baroque chapel Maria Hilf in Balzers/Mäls is recommended.
