Description
Since Carlo Janka's triumph at the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver and his overall World Cup victory in 2010, Obersaxen has been a well-known name in the sports world. It was here that Janka perfected his ski technique. In Obersaxen, you can improve your technique and fitness not only on skis but also on the bike saddle. The "Panorama route" is one of many route variations offering exactly that. It lives up to its name with its wide-ranging view of mountain and valley. Even culturally, interested bikers will get their money's worth: the route passes the Schwarzenstein castle ruins, built in the 13th century by Rhaetian people with a sense for upscale living amid secluded nature.
The route alternates between gentle gravel paths and easily rideable single trails. Training endurance can be this enjoyable!
Attention: The route partly runs over the frequently hiked Walserweg. Please respect hikers and ring your trail bell: trail tolerance!
Hidden Gem
Worth seeing: Schwarzenstein Castle ruins. Only a small sign points to this hidden gem.
If you are traveling by e-bike, you can benefit from a total of four charging stations: Rufali Park, Cuolm Sura, Undermatt, Wali
Those who want to skip the mountain inn Wali can also take the suspension bridge at Imschlacht.
Safety Note
If the weather conditions are uncertain, the route should not be undertaken. Weather changes are common in the mountains. If a rain front, thunderstorm (danger of lightning strike), or similar approaches during the route, you should turn back in time.
