Description
This route should be planned in two stages. Stage 1: The bus takes hikers from S-chanf to the Prasüras parking lot. From there, the Varusch park hut and the entrance to the National Park are not far. Through pristine, untouched landscapes, you enter the Val Müschauns and then climb steeply to the Fuorcla Val Sassa. Through the rocky desert of the Val Sassa, you reach the Cluozza stream, which you follow to the hut. The Cluozza Hut lies quiet and secluded and offers simple overnight accommodations. It is not uncommon to see or hear deer at dusk. Stage 2: From the Cluozza Hut, two paths lead back to civilization. The direct one, which after a short climb descends steeply to Zernez (variant B), or the other, which climbs steeply behind the hut to the Fuorcla Murtèr (variant A). Along the way, you mostly see a lot of wildlife early in the morning (deer, chamois, ibex...). The descent on the other side leads through mountain pines and offers impressive views of the Canadian-like forests of the National Park. From parking lot 3 (Vallun Chafuol), the bus goes to Zernez.
