Description
You now traverse a couloir and shortly afterwards reach a large scree terrace. From here, the route is the same as before: climb southwest through a small valley up to the Pass da Casnil Sud (2941 m). At the top of the pass, the view of the north face of the Cima dal Cantun becomes clear! From the pass you climb a few more meters to the north, then the descent begins. You reach the Capanna da l'Albigna (2333 m) via boulder terrain and meadows.

Safety Note
The safety devices and chains along the route are installed at the beginning of summer. Find out in advance from the huts whether the trail is already passable. We strongly advise against walking without chains fitted!
! Some maps still show the old ascent from the Fornotal. Instead of crossing the rocks, this led further back in the valley directly from the glacier tongue westwards up to the Casnil basin. This path is no longer maintained. There is a high risk of falling and falling rocks. Unfortunately, this path can still be seen dotted in black in the background of the Outdooractive map.
Pay attention to the markings on site!

You first climb down the moraine for around 45 minutes on the gravel hut path to the junction at the bridge at around 2200 m. The path now climbs and leads past huge slabs of rock and over green ledges to a shoulder below the eastern ridge of Piz Casnil (approx. 2630 m). Some sections are exposed and secured with chains.

From the pass you climb a few more meters to the north, then the descent begins. Here too there is another secured section, otherwise the descent is not so demanding and continues over boulder terrain and meadows to the Capanna da l'Albigna (2333 m).
