Challenging beautiful hike from Splügen over the Safierberg into the Safiental to Turrahus.
Details
Description
The hike from Splügen in the Rheinwald over the mule track Safierberg to Turrahus in the Safiental is located in the area of the Beverin Nature Park, home to the ibex. With some luck, you may encounter a Capricorn on the Safierberg or spot it in the rock walls of the Alperschällihora.
From Splügen, the hiking trail leads steeply up to Gadastatt and continues over alpine pastures to Stutzalp. Over the Stutzbach, the trail climbs up to Safierberg. The rather steep descent into the Safiental leads on mountain paths in a zigzag over Ziprian to Bodaälpli and continues on alpine paths to Piggamad. Turrahus, at the end of the Safiental, is reached soon.
From Turrahus, the PostAuto runs via Thalkirch, Safien Platz, and Tenna to Versam. Timetable and further information at sbb.ch.
