Description
After a hearty meal at the Arflina mountain hut, you first hike a bit uphill towards Gaua, then the hiking trail leads almost horizontally to the upper Alp Nova meadow. From here you can admire a wonderful view of the entire Rätikon range on the opposite valley side. From the Nova upper meadow, you walk downhill along the dirt road to the junction towards Larein lower meadow. Through the woodland, a hiking trail leads through a bird sanctuary directly to Larein lower meadow. During the alpine pasturing season, the milk from both cow alpine huts is processed into fine alpine cheese and butter here. The trail now leads you downhill in a northerly direction towards Särrä. At the hairpin bend, turn left into the forest and continue through Ful Ried to Nüjieja. This is the furthest scattered alpine settlement in Valdavos. At the lowest meadow, a small hiking path leads down through the forest to the wood storage area, from where you continue on the dirt road to Rütiboden, Hau, Specht, Junker until you reach Feisti. From there, depending on your mood, you can take a detour to the nearby Jenaz Bath. The dirt road then leads you further down the valley to the "Brachboden" Brättli place above the villages of Jenaz and Pragg-Jenaz. This place also invites you to relax comfortably, and children can enjoy themselves on the playground. This beautiful hike then continues through the picturesque upper village down to Jenaz train station.
Hidden Gem
