Description

The starting point is the Tourist Information in La Punt. Past the village square of Chamues-ch, the route leads on the alp road into the Val Chamuera. Suddenly, in the middle of the valley, a majestic and architecturally perfect building at 2016 m a.s.l. stands before you. It is the most important alpine pasture building in the canton of Graubünden from the 19th century, originally designed as a dairy and inhabited in winter until 1836. Here you turn sharply to the left. After Alp Timun, you go left up the steep path towards Fuorcla Chaschauna at 2802 m a.s.l., where you encounter a moon-like landscape; it can be very windy here. On the other side of the pass begins the partly steep descent into Val Chaschauna, where you meet the route of the National Park Bike Marathon. Past Alp Chaschauna, the alp road leads downward towards S-chanf. At the height of Alp Vaüglia Suot, switch to the left side of the valley; on the forest hiking trail above S-chanf, you walk with slight ups and downs back towards La Punt – along the way, you have a beautiful view of the village scenes of Zuoz and Madulain on the opposite side of the valley as well as the golf course.
