Description

After a comfortable ascent by cable car to Caischavedra, we get ready for a varied descent towards Sedrun.

The Senda Pauli is a very technical uphill and downhill section to the Plaun Grond (Bostg) viewpoint - a section that requires consideration, as there are many hikers on the trail. Once you reach the top, it's worth taking a break: the treeless summit of the Bostg offers a fantastic view of the imposing mountain range around the Piz Medel and its glaciers - a real panoramic highlight.

This is followed by a flowing ride over the Mises dil Bostg into Val Bugnei. Storm Vivian left its mark on this valley over thirty years ago - today a diverse young forest grows here, full of life and accompanied by birdsong.

As we leave the valley, our gaze falls on the striking Bugnei viaduct, whose elegant architecture regularly features on brochures and postcards. And shortly afterwards we reach Sedrun.

From here, there are several options open to us: a sporty ride on one of the bike routes or a leisurely hike along the hiking trail via Bugnei - Mompé Tujetsch and Segnas to Disentis - depending on what our legs still feel like doing.

Directions

From the top station of the cable car in Caischavedra, we follow the signposted route to Piz Plaun Grond (Bostg). Continue south down the valley to the Maiensässen in Mises dil Bostg, where we follow the signposted route to the right. In Val Bugnei we reach a forest road. We branch off to the right, then after a few meters to the left again, after which we end the tour on a single trail to Sedrun.
