Gurlaina – San Jon – Avrona – Nairs

We start south of the high bridge at the playground Gurlaina on the direct way to the covered Inn bridge. At the mineral fountain of Plaz we turn east and leave the historic part of the village after the Clozza bridge near Porta. Here it goes slightly right down towards Pradella to the iron bridge "Lischana" and to the mineral spring of the same name - the magnesium-containing water is very popular with athletes. Now follows the wooded (300 hm, 2.5 km) to the hill San Jon. Past the riding stable we walk into the valley towards S-charl – first parallel to the road through the forest and then for about 800m on the road. At point 1520 we leave the road and turn right into the forest towards Plan Da Funtanas. We cross the wildly romantic mountain stream Clemgia (Pt. 1376) and climb up to the hamlet of Avrona and take the rooty trail to the fantastically situated mountain lake Lai Nair under our feet.  The subsequent descent over the "Mot da la Crusch" (Cross Hill) offers a steady view of the mighty Tarasp Castle. At Sgné we cross the main road, visit the legendary Hexenplatte and then enjoy the crisp descent to Nairs. Arrived at the valley floor we see the origin of the Lower Engadine spa history with the Hotel Scuol Palace, the drinking hall "Büvetta" and the source houses Carola and Sfondraz. Along the traditional spa promenade we finally come back to Gurlaina.

The tour can be shortened to Avrona via Vulpera.
