Description
From Cazis train station, a brisk ride downhill along the Nollakanal. At Rodels, pass Ortenstein Castle on the right bank of the Rhine to Rothenbrunnen. In the opposite direction, follow route 261 and the fresh scent in the Rhäzünser Rhine meadows.
The single trail above the Rhine meadows requires some sense of balance over 2 km (medium technical level). Follow route 262, refill with Rhäzünser water, and tackle the first sweat-inducing climb to Foppas. At point 935, turn left and master the last steep altitude meters to Tschuncauns. A magnificent panorama compensates for the effort.
In a leisurely ride to Präz via "Dalin Nord" to the next climb to Lescha. Before the climax of this route at 1,420 m above sea level, between Zartuns - Stivetta, maybe a stop at the restaurant Lescha? From 1,420 m above sea level, follow a good road network to the center of the village of Flerden and downhill via the farms Quadra, Dim to Masein. Via routes 90 and 1 back to Cazis completes this great scenic route.
Hidden Gem
