Description

From Klosters Dorf, the Madrisa cable car takes you up to the Madrisa mountain station (1884m). Already the first panoramic view offers a magnificent mountain panorama. Those who wish can fortify themselves for the hike at the Saaseralp mountain restaurant. Via Untersäss (1940m) you ascend gently to point 1978m, from where it becomes a bit steeper. It is likely that you will shed a few drops of sweat by the time you reach Alp Obersäss (2158m); from Obersäss, however, it continues almost flat along the slope into the valley. The white karst appears from afar like a snowfield and soon after another significant ascent awaits. The path is nowhere dangerous. In a gentle zigzag course, you soon gain height and reach the Rätschenjoch (2602m), where a magnificent panorama rewards the climbing effort. The ideal place to enjoy the picnic you brought along...

Behind the Rätschenjoch, the descent begins. A short stretch follows along the karst rock and by point 2304m you have already passed several rock steps. Behind an apparently impassable rock wall, a scree field appears, and with the necessary caution you descend along the right rock face. The path then leads along the slope to point 2004m. Soon it flattens out and the settlement Sunnistafel (1747m) is reached. Via the alpine road you reach the settlement Rüti (1461m). The view back shows almost the entire route.
