Details

Description

On the left side of the Drun stream, which can behave like a dangerous dragon in bad weather, we walk with a pleasant incline up to the Val Strem. After a rockfall in 2016, the once charming landscape turned into a scree field with huge boulders. The waterfall at the Bauns valley step roars and in the slopes we can spot marmots if we take the time to look.  A few switchbacks later, we reach Mises with views of Sedrun and Rueras. Then it continues easily to Sum Praus and up to Uaul Flurin, the highest point of the trail. The way back is a relaxed cool down on wide, low-traffic paths.

Safety Note

Fairtrail: Hikers share the path with mountain bikers.

If there are cows on the meadows, keep your distance.

Directions

From Sedrun station, we briefly follow the railway line eastward, then go under the underpass and along the Drun and over the bridge to Valtgeva, continue straight ahead to the bridge in Val Strem. Following the hiking trail to Sum Praus, then ascending to Uaul Flurin. On the paved road to Rueras, turn left before the railway line. Before the first curve, turn right onto the meadow path to Camischolas Sura and back to the station.
