Hut approach Älplibahn - Schesaplana hut

From the mountain station of the Älplibahn, the hike leads northwest more or less horizontally to the Jeninser Mittelsäss and further to the Maienfelder Vorderalp. Follow the road north up to the ridge (2030 m), continue on the road to the first right curve, there slightly turn left and follow the more or less horizontally running footpath on the east flank of the Glegghorn into the Fläscher valley to the lower Fläschersee 1889 m. Walk north around the lake and then turn right to the east on a footpath through sparse forest slightly downhill to the road leading from Fläscher Alp Sarina to Maienfelder Alp Ijes 1942 m.

Then first horizontal eastwards - later southeastwards about 1.2 km and around the rock head (2143 m) located in front of the Barthümeljoc, then slightly descending/ascending, partly lightly exposed good 2 km to the east to the saddle north of P1822 (35 min). Then about 500 m east downwards and horizontal north and southeast over open meadows to Alp Fasons, continue on the road to Altsäss and to the Schesaplana hut.

The Älplibahn consists of 2 cabins with 4 persons each and has limited capacity. An early reservation at Tel. +41 (0)81 322 47 64 is therefore essential.
