Description
We start our hike at the pretty RhB station in Igis. At the "Kreuz-wiese" bus stop, we turn left, soon cross the Mühlebach stream and leave the asphalt road at Mühlihof, turning right. We soon discover the first of numerous biotopes along our route to Landquart. Just above the petrol station at Ganda, a lovely barbecue area invites you to take a break.
We continue on to the bridge over the old cantonal road over the Landquart. The small gravel area was once the site of the Felsenbach RhB station, which served as a railroad station for the inhabitants of Valzeina. We turn left, cross under the main road and walk along the path between the Malanser Mühlbach stream and the RhB tracks to the Dunggelauli biotope. It's worth taking a look at the numerous ponds. There is always something to discover.
At the next fork in the path, we keep left, cross the railroad line and return to the Landquart. We stay on the right bank of the river and walk along it to the crossroads at Karlihof. Here we change sides, cross under the main road and soon reach our destination at Landquart railroad station along the left bank.
