Description

The Schwellisee lake can be reached from Innerarosa with a beautiful walk in less than one hour. Once you have reached the Schwellisee, you can enjoy the mountain panorama and the view down to the bottom of the lake from one of the cosy Arosa Benches, or take another walk around the lake on the nature trail. The area around the Schwellisee used to be surrounded by a pine forest. Above the crystal-clear mountain lake stands a legendary stone pine, which still reminds us of it today. The hike brings you back to Innerarosa along the same path.

Hidden Gem

On the way back, it is worth paying a short visit to the Eggahus local history museum.

Public Transport

The Rhaetian Railway leaves Chur to Arosa and back at hourly intervals. Take the local bus from the train station to "Hörnli" until you reach the station "Gade". This is where the hike starts.

Travel Information

Once you arrive in Chur, follow the sign posts Arosa. Follow the main street to Innerarosa.

Parking

At the entrance to the village there are large signs indicating the various parking options. We recommend the car parking "Brüggli". From there it's only around 5 minutes to walk until you reach the starting point of the hike.
