Description

The hike in Val da Camp passes through pristine natural landscapes and alpine scenery cultivated for generations. At the beginning, a magnificent view opens up: the Valposchiavo reveals itself in all its length and splendor.

The ascent to the Saoseo refuge uses a dirt road under a motor traffic ban: only small postbuses and owners of alpine huts in Val da Camp are exempt from this ban. Through flower-filled meadows and fragrant forests, you reach Lake Saoseo. The lake shines with an incredible deep blue.

The gentle descent leading back to the valley completes this pleasant hike. A beautiful nature trail winds through the forest, crossing streams and alpine flower meadows.

Hidden Gem

Near the lake, there is a nice area dedicated to barbecue.

Directions

The route is marked as a mountain trail (white-red-white difficulty level T2). The starting point is the postbus stop at La Rösa. Traveling on dirt roads and small, not too steep paths, you continue towards Salva Dain until Lake Saoseo. Then you descend towards Terzana and proceed until you reach Pozzulasc. At the end of the tour, caution is advised: the last 100 meters to the postbus stop are along the Bernina Pass road.
