Description
Varied high-altitude hike from Lavin to Ardez via Guarda along the Via Engiadina. From Lavin station, the path leads through forests into Val Lavinouz and steadily uphill over the Alp Dadoura. With magnificent views of Verstanclahorn, Vadret da las Maisas, and Piz Linard, the route runs along alpine slopes to Chamanna dal Bescher and further towards Guarda, partly on the "Schellen-Ursli path". After a break in the idyllic village of Guarda, the trail continues over alpine pastures and summer farms towards Ardez. Via Alp Suot and Alp Sura, one reaches an impressive high point at Murtera Dadoura. The descent then leads down meadows and pastures to Ardez with its distinctive castle ruin.

Start your hike with a visit to the Swiss National Park Center in Zernez or the Susch Museum. In Guarda, the well-known "Schellen-Ursli village", a culturally rich village stroll invites you to linger. For a delightful break, a coffee and cake stop at Garde-Manger is recommended.
