Description
The Tschentaneras trail in Castrisch is groomed for classic and skating styles and is about 5 km long. It is centrally located and easily accessible by car and public transport. You will enjoy a beautiful view of the mountain landscape of the Surselva. The village of Castrisch is located at the entrance to the Ruinaulta, the Rhine Gorge – also known as the "Swiss Grand Canyon." The story of the Ruinaulta began with the massive Flims rockslide about 10,000 years ago. The Rhine was dammed up and carved its way through thousands of years, shaping the Ruinaulta.
The trail is at only 700 meters above sea level and is not always blessed with snow. Information on snow conditions and the opening of the cross-country ski trails can be found here.
